Bosch 4100 model names: identify your saw before buying parts

Separate the saw’s identity, the retail package, and the stand so you can find the right documentation.

The short answer

Use the label on the machine, not a retailer headline, as the starting point. Record the exact model and product/type number, and identify the stand separately. Similar model names do not establish accessory compatibility.

Three pieces of information to record

RecordWhere to lookWhat it helps resolve
Saw model and product/type numberIdentification label on the sawCorrect manual and parts diagram
Package name, if knownOriginal receipt or packagingWhat was originally sold together
Stand modelStand label and its instructionsMounting hardware and stand-specific information

How to treat the names you encounter

The original 4100/4100DG manual identifies those models on its cover. Bosch also maintains a separate product page for the 4100XC-10. Listings using 4100-09 or 4100-10 should be matched to the actual saw label and package documentation; this guide does not assume that a suffix alone proves what is included.

An online title may be incomplete, copied from another listing, or describing a package rather than every component in the photograph. Ask for labels before ordering parts.

A current specification is not a historical specification

Bosch lists a 30-inch rip capacity for the 4100XC-10. Do not insert that number into an older 4100 review simply because the names are similar. Keep any comparison tied to a dated source and exact model.

The same discipline applies to the stand. The original owner article praises a Gravity-Rise setup, but the current stand model still needs confirmation from its label.

Build a small reference record

  • Save the matching manual and its document number.
  • Keep the saw and stand identifiers together with purchase or repair records.
  • Record the exact accessory part number before checking fit.
  • Ask Bosch to resolve an ambiguous match rather than using visual similarity as proof.

For a secondhand purchase, use the buying checklist. For cutting equipment, continue to blade selection or dado compatibility.
