Map the connection before shopping

Record the saw model, the outlet arrangement, the hose ends, and the inlet on your collection equipment. Check how each connection is described: a nominal hose size alone may not explain which pieces mate together.

Make a short parts list for the complete path. It is easier to identify one missing adapter than to buy several similar-looking fittings and hope one works.

A dust bag is a distinct option

Bosch lists the TS1004 dust bag for the 4100 and certain other models with an exterior 2-1/2-inch port. That documentation is a useful compatibility starting point, but it does not make a bag equivalent to a powered extraction setup.

Plan for a garage that packs away

Evaluate results honestly

If you compare setups, keep the material, operation and cleanup method consistent. Photograph where debris remains and record how much effort the connection adds to setup. These observations can help explain convenience and visible collection; they are not an air-quality measurement.

We have not carried out a new extraction test or verified an adapter shopping list for the owner’s current saw. Avoid buying a whole system based on a photograph of someone else’s connection.

Keep the saw’s intended arrangement

Do not improvise an enclosure that obstructs cooling, controls or safety components. Consult the equipment instructions for the intended collection arrangement.
